I have asked friends and acquaintances to take a picture of me – any way they like – and then to tell me their thoughts about my online profile name, “belastungskoerper”. Many saw themselves confronted with a side of me – my gay online life – they had never before known of. This work mirrors a series of pictures I had taken of other men who use those pictures for their online dating profiles. In a soundtrack to those pictures they speak of their intentions and feelings about those pictures. Both works look at how online identities are constructed and used.
